2024 Nominations

The Member Leaders are comprised of volunteers, who are always looking for ways to add value to your ASQ experience.  If you have some ideas or topics you want to see or want to volunteer, let us know at Info@ASQEdmonton.org.

 

2024 Member-Leader Nominations:

Nominations are open for next years leadership positions.
Nominations close October 7, 2022.

Please submit names of nominated individuals to our Nomination Chair via e-mail at Nominations@asqedmonton.org.

Nominations require the submission of a nomination petition (download here) signed by at least 10 Regular Members*. Eligible individuals must be Regular Members of the Society and have a membership in the ASQ Edmonton Section. *Regular members are voting members of the Society: Full, Senior, Fellow, Honorary, and primary contact of Site/Enterprise/School/District memberships.

Below is a brief description of each position that is open for nominations.  Each of these positions is for the 2023 one year term.

 

 

Elected Positions worth 2.0 Recertification Units (RU) upon successful completion of duties

Chair
The Chair provides leadership and oversight to the member unit, prepares meeting agendas, and is the presiding officer.  Chair Position Description available here.
 
Vice Chair & PAR (Business Plan) Chair
The Vice Chair performs duties as directed by the Chair in support of the organization’s mission and goals. This position does not succeed to the position of Chair following the end of the first term.  Vice-Chair Position Description available here.
 
Secretary
The Secretary documents member unit business and maintain the records. This position serves as the official correspondent of the member unit.  Secretary Position Description available here.
 
Treasurer
The Treasurer oversees funds, maintains accurate financial records, and reports on financial condition as directed by the Society bylaws and policies and procedures.  Treasurer Position Description available here.

 

Volunteer Positions worth 1.5 Recertification Units (RU) upon successful completion of duties

Programs Chair
The Programs Chair determines the focus of section events and programs, solicits speakers to match topics, and coordinates speaker needs. Programs Chair Description available here.

Membership Chair
The Membership Chair is responsible for section recruitment and retention efforts by developing and implementing plans to maximize membership renewal and encourage interested persons to join ASQ. The Membership Chair is required to uphold ASQ bylaws, policies and procedures, and section operating agreements.  Membership Chair Position Description available here.

Education Chair
The Education Chair creates and implements plans to address educational issues of the section, or enhances previous plans.  The Education Chair works with section recertification chair to determine certification course needs of the section and arranges and determines format, presenters, resources, objectives, teaching methods and materials for educational events.  The Education Chair also works to inform Edmonton section members of any courses offered by ASQ headquarters.  Education Chair Position Description available here.

VoC (Voice of the Customer) Chair
The VoC Chair is an advocate for member value, satisfaction, and loyalty, working with leadership to collect and utilize voice of the customer data to recommend appropriate programs and services.  The VoC Chair downloads monthly membership information and works to ensure that all members are being communicated to regularly and in accordance with their preferences.  VoC Chair Position Description available here.

Placement Chair
The Placement Chair serves all section members who are out of work and/or seeking employment, maintains the ASQEdmonton.org career section on the website, and is knowledgeable of the ASQ Career Centre to assist section members and companies interested in expanding their employment or recruiting search.  Placement Chair Position Description available here.

Publicity Chair
The Publicity Chair ensures that section meetings and programs are publicized through a variety of media outlets reaching the membership and local community in a timely manner.  Publicity Chair Position Description available here.

Certification Chair
The Certification Chair coordinates and manages section activities related to the ASQ certification program.  Certification Chair Position Description available here.

IT Chair
The IT Chair maintains the ASQEdmonton.org website and associated IT services, thereby providing current and relevant information about the section, such as: history, mission, goals, membership benefits, events and activities.  IT Chair Position Description available here.

Newsletter Chair
The Newsletter Chair establishes and adheres to a publication calendar for the newsletter, seeks content from other ASQ volunteers for inclusion; designs, lays out, and edits each newsletter; and ensures distribution to the section membership using the monthly membership list.  Newsletter Chair Position Description available here.
